HALLOWEENS SWEETEST: Culinary Academy students had a food science project and displayed it in the cafeteria. They let fellow students decide which project was the best on Oct 31. They call this Halloween Wars.

GIRLS V. BOYS: Oct. 23 during 3rd period in Chef Newmans level one class one group of girls supervised by Britney Campbell faced off against a group of boys in which I observed in a ready, set, cook challenge. The challenge to cook a dish using the main ingredients: chicken, sweet peppers, and rice. They had access to any other ingredients to put together a masterpiece of a dish. The girls group created a pan-seared chicken topped with a BBQ and citrus sauce and fresh sweet peppers to garnish. Judged by Assistant Principal for the class of 2021, Scott McDermott. The verdict was that the girls group had won.

DO THE DEW? Chef Newman loves to drink Diet Pepsi and all her Culinary Arts students are trying to help her stop drinking them because they are actually not that better for you than other regular sodas. So every time she buys one, we play a joke on her and hide her soda in various areas throughout the kitchen. On May 17th she had bought a Diet Mountain Dew. So we hid the soda behind the table in the breakfast line. She searched everywhere for it. She finally found it when the bell rang for 1st period to begin!
