I WOKE UP LIKE THIS: Students dressed out to show their school spirit during Spirit Week, Feb. 12-15. Monday was Pajama Day; Tuesday, Jocks vs. Nerds; Wednesday, Valentine’s Day. To finish the week off, Thursday was Throwback and White-Out Day.

PEP RALLY: The Canes gathered in the gymnasium again Feb. 15, but this time with a twist: When the lights turned off the gym really started to light up, said Ashley Alceme, a senior in the Medical Academy. During the event students participated in challenges and other contests, and even a Promposal happened. They really went all out for this Pep Rally, said Gaelle Compere.

INLET WINS AGAIN: Well deserved recognition for Mr. McDermott who was awarded Career and Technical Education Assistant Principal of the Year honors at last nights annual dinner. Congratulations also to Medical Academy Instructor Dr. Remedios Tellez (CTE High School Teacher category) and Marine Science Instructor Mr. Rice (CTE Rookie Teacher category) for being nominated. They are winners in my book, said Nurse Blair. Earlier, Culinary Academy senior Yolnicka Jeune was crowned 2018 Career and Technology Education Student of the Year.

PUTTING CANE SKILLS TO WORK: 12th grade Early Admit student Grayson Griner has accepted a position with CMI Air Conditioning and Electric in Lake Park working as an AutoCad specialist. He will be laying out A/C duct work and training some of their current employees on AutoCAD. He uses the AutoCAD certification earned in the Pre-Architecture and Pre-Engineering Academy from Inlet Grove.
