Senioritis is something that all Seniors catch whether it’s in the beginning, middle or the end of the school year. Senioritis is when seniors become stressed about classes, fees, scholarships, college applications, requirements and discovering what to do after graduation.
All in all wanting it be done!
To start off Senior dues are $220 and this only includes 7 tickets for graduation, a Senior shirt, Senior breakfast/ yearbook signing party, a yearbook, Rapids trip, and one ticket to prom and Senior awards night.
Although this does include a big variety of things it’s not everything that needs to be done and paid for.
As far as classes go you may have to retake a class or two to get a credit that is needed to graduate or you might get stuck in a class that you don’t necessarily need to be in.
At Inlet you are not allowed to leave campus early as a Senior unless you are in dual enrollment because we do not have Senior privileges here.
Most students don’t necessarily agree with this policy, because after getting done with all of the classes that are needed, Seniors could go home, to work, and etc.
With college applications and scholarships it could be quite challenging and frustrating when applying for them.
In order to graduate it is a requirement to have at least two college acceptance letters or a letter from the military.
It can be frustrating because seniors would have to write lots of different essays and go through lots of applications just to see if they get accepted or denied into the college or eligible for the scholarship they applied to.
It could also be heartbreaking for some that are applying to scholarships because that could be there only source to have college/trade school paid for in order for them to attend.
Now, after high school it’s a scary thing to think about.
Some students may not know if they want to go to school, some maybe getting kicked out of their homes since they’re 18 and some students may not have any money saved for college.
Some students may also think about taking a year off then go into college but with that decision lots of people get comfortable with not going to college and just working or living their life to the fullest.
Lastly the requirements to graduate from Inlet Grove.
Is not to much but you must have at least 24 credits (4 mathematics credits) (4 English credits) ( 8 elective credits) (3 history credits) (3 science credits) (2 physical credits) ( 1 economics credit) (2 language credits)
All fees must be paid, two college or military acceptance letters, and community service hours must be done.
With all this being said upcoming seniors, staff, teachers, and parents should think about all the weight that could be on seniors.
