Mufasa: The Lion King has made it to live action! Offering the fans an emotionally rich exploration of the iconic characters backstory, blending the familiar themes from the original.
The experience was amazing especially the singalong part “I Always Wanted A Brother” which was sung around the theater since it was learned prior to tiktok.
The film explores how Mufasa’s past and relationships shaped him into being the ruler. It shows his sacrifices that come with true leadership. Mufasa’s childhood, where he was raised under the shadow of his older brother’s scar.
Scars bitterness and envy slowly growing. Scar felt overshadowed by Mufasa’s strength and kindness, leading him to seek more power and control.
Mufasa’s struggles with the weight of responsibility. Though he is naturally compassionate and just faced with decisions regarding the kingdom. He contemplates whether he is worthy of the kingdom.
Final scene echoes the theme of the “circle of life” from the original movie. Which he later on shapes the future and continues the birth of his son, Simba.
