Paramount Pictures, Sonic the hedgehog movie series has been the perfect way on how film studios should adapt video games into movies and shows, because through out all Sonic films they’ve showed how much the team behind the movies listens to the fans and respecting the source material from the original games while giving their own spin to them unlike some movies like the Super Mario movie (1993) or Doom(2005).

Those films don’t acknowledge the source material and try to do their own thing but the problem with that is that they fail at telling a story that can appeal for fans because those types of movies try to appeal to critics and audiences, which causes video game movies to not be in the public’s favor, because they weren’t much liked at the time leading either mixed or bad reviews leaving a lot of people with the mindset that video game movies can’t be adapted correctly, which always leave people worried when they ever announce that they’ll adapt said video game.

But after the success of Detective Pikachu(2019) the film gave people a small bit of hope but didn’t gave them full amount of hope till Sonic the hedgehog(2020) the film that gave everyone hope for all video game media and it amped it up with it’s sequels getting better and better like Sonic the hedgehog 2(2022), Knuckles(2024),and Sonic the hedgehog 3(2024), and they do it by appealing to the fans, actually listening to the fans, and respecting the source material of the games while putting their own spin to which still can be love by both fans and audiences.

Which also allowed studios to also put out great, good, and decent movies like The Super Mario Bros. Movie(2023), Five Nights At Freddy(2023), Mortal Kombat(2021), The Last Of Us(2023), Fallout(2024), and Arcane(2021) cus those media now favors more to the fans giving them what they wanted and what they want to see and that’s thanks to the success from the Sonic movie series the public has now favor the public.
