New year, new me
“3…2…1…HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!”
This is what we all said as 2017 was ending and 2018 was becoming the new four digits of this year. But this wasn’t the only thing we said this winter break. We also set new standards for ourselves.
You might have said that this new year, you were going to get on a strict diet and shave off a couple pounds. But we all know that in the end, you never end up succeeding with this.
“It’s just a cookie, it won’t hurt,” is what you say before you break your diet.
When the year begins, of course, you’re trying your hardest and striving to reach your new year’s resolution. But sometimes there comes a point where we just give up because the temptation is way too strong. But here are some tips on how you can stay committed to your new year’s resolution.
Step 1: Announce your new year’s resolution to everyone, so that you can hear “Didn’t you say you wanted to…for your new year’s resolution?” every time you do something wrong.
Step 2: Pep-talk yourself. Make yourself feel motivated to actually go through with it.
Step 3: Keep yourself reminded that you can do it. Leave a sticky note by your nightstand if you have to.
Follow these three simple steps and you could reach your goal. A good tip is to imagine yourself at the finish line. How do you feel? How do you look? Where are you?
It’s always good to imagine that you’ve already reached your goal. It motivates you to actually make it there.
