Canes @ Jaguars game recap
The Hurricanes’ stout defense again came to play as Inlet Grove High School traveled south seeking to ruin Pembroke Pines High School’s Homecoming.
But a first half that featured numerous forced turnovers by both teams ended with a 14-0 Jaguars lead.
“Once they get the offense going we can win this game,” said one Canes supporter in the stands.
But even in the second half, fumble-itis kept the Blue-and-White from cashing in on several promising drives.
The third quarter was highlighted by Mitchel Desulme’s forced fumble, sweet pass receptions by Curtis Bunche and Shaquelle Hall, and Voshon Jackson’s relentless rushing.
But while the Canes’ defense held the Jags scoreless the entire second half, a goal-line interception by the host sealed their victory.
The Hurricanes now must win two of their last three games to earn a spot in the playoffs.
