Charlene Gonzalez, who previously worked as a veterinary technician for Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital, has been working at Inlet as a custodian since April she said, and was voted Staff of the Month for September.

“I believe it was my hard work and perseverance that paid off,” she said.

Ms. Charlene said she is from Queens, New York. She was raised with her five brothers and three sisters.

She said the hardest part of her job is, “when the bathroom toilets get stuck up, you’ve got to have a strong stomach.”

Being a custodian isn’t as easy as it seems she said, “You know there’s really a science behind it really and when you grab hold of that science, then it makes sense.”

Ms. Charlene’s said her favorite part of the job is “the people and the kids obviously, I guess that’s why I keep it so clean and work so hard.”
