ANN MARIE SORRELL: The President/CEO of The Mosaic Group, an award- winning marketing, public relations and events management firm serving clients throughout South Florida, spoke to Journalism students about her career. The Pahokee native, who studied Healthcare Administration/Health Management at Florida A&M University, now has her own company that has managed more than 200 campaigns, and clients ranging from budgets of $10,000 to $5 million. Ive always been a business minded person, and knew that whether I was going to be a physical therapist or a nurse or whatever, something was going to lead back to me turning it into my own business somehow, she said.

TAMRON HALL: The award-winning journalist was the guest speaker at the Links 37th White Rose Luncheon Dec. 4. The Links is an international non-profit organization that celebrates friendship and service, and raises money for scholarships. Hurricane students and staff -- including CEO Dr. Emma Banks, Vice Principal Ms. Pientka, and former Pre-Law and Debate instructor Lonnie Martens -- also attended.

ALL AROUND THE STATES: When the C-SPAN interactive, multimedia mobile classroom arrived on campus Nov. 29, students in the AP Government/History, TV & Film Production and Journalism classes got to explore the technology inside the bus. The new state-of-the-art customized motor coach stops at book festivals, high schools and universities to host students and teachers around the nation, giving them an inside look at C-SPAN’s comprehensive educational and political resources as part of a 50-State Tour that began in September.
