Hey, my name is Ruth-Anna Kalchik but I go by Ruthy. I am a freshman in the Culinary Arts program. My favorite hobbies are cooking, baking, reading and being outdoors. Also I love to try new things such as food and culture.

GET MY GOOD SIDE: Introducing Franklin, one of the three Marine Science class pets. Residing in Ms. Martinich's classroom, Franklin is the most adventurous crab. He loves to crawl on students hands and change in and out of different shells throughout his enclosure.

DO THE DEW? Chef Newman loves to drink Diet Pepsi and all her Culinary Arts students are trying to help her stop drinking them because they are actually not that better for you than other regular sodas. So every time she buys one, we play a joke on her and hide her soda in various area's throughout the kitchen. On May 17th she had bought a Diet Mountain Dew. So we hid the soda behind the table in the breakfast line. She searched everywhere for it. She finally found it when the bell rang for 1st period to begin!

We asked him Would you rather work in cold or hot weather, His answer was " as far as the weather .... it does not bother me because I am originally from New York so the cold. I can enjoy cold or hot weather.

TAKING THE WIN: GroveWatch.com Editor-in-Chief Brianna Luberisse, a sophomore in the Journalism program, took the Martin Luther King Coordinating Committee Photo competition with two wins, first and second place. "I did not think that I was going to win," she said. "I was kind of shocked that I won a first and second place."
