What is technology coming to?

In the future, your tattoos could be much more than just ink designs.

Researchers say you may soon be able to control your music’s volume or change the TV channel simply by swiping on your forearm thanks to the invention of a temporary tattoo that can be used to control a mobile phone.

Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Microsoft are working with Cindy Hsin-Liu Kao, a Ph.D student at the MIT Media Lab.

“One day we will be applying skin interfaces just as we apply makeup,” said Kao to CNN news.

This is not the first time Kao developed technology like this, who remembers the fingernail track-pad? This stylish artificial invention named “NailO” allows you to turn your thumb into a mouse.

While this invention can come in many shapes and colors, “Duoskin” technology is said to be more comfortable and more attractive than any other invention.

The gold leaf circuit connects to a small chip which is able to wirelessly stream a Bluetooth signal to a device, the same way a smart watch or remote control does now. This tattoo could also contain a small  Near Field Communication (NFC) chip, allowing users to tap a phone onto the skin to read information or activate a feature.

Not only can it respond to any persons touch, it can also respond to a persons emotions depending on their body temperature. This new invention is the new thing in China and is said to be making a big splash in the technology industry.
