TO BE OR NOT TO BE: Despite quarantine, the Drama Club continues. They are seeking for new members.

Sireayah Jones, Co-editor

The Drama Club meets after school every Wednesday and Thursday, between 3:30 – 5:30. We’ve still used this schedule even during online school. While on Google Meet, we discuss: fundraising events/opportunities, theater-related content and activities, and participate in national events, such as the National Thespian Society Individual Events.

“I think the Drama Club is a great way to express yourself and be able to make new friends and also find out new things about yourself,” Emely Castro said.

For individual events, students from each troupe may participate in the following competition categories: One Act, Costume Construction, Costume Design, Duet Acting, Duet Musical Theatre, Ensemble Acting, Large Group Musical, Make-up Design, Monologue, Pantomime, Playwriting, Publicity Direction, Scene Design, Solo Musical, Small Group Musical, and Student Choreography.

“I think the Drama Club is a good place to expand and improve on your talents and find new things to explore,” Natalia Smith, another member of the club said

“I think Drama Club is a great place to enjoy the company, talk to people, and learn more about drama aspects such as learning to improv (improvisational acting).” Daevon Ible-Bivins, a member of the Drama Club said.  [They are] like different things to do and it’s a great place to meet new people.”
