DON’T: National Suicide Prevention week is from Sept. 4 – 10. Suicide is one of the main principal deaths among adolescents. “Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people age 15 to 24 in the U.S,” based on the National Alliance on Mental Illness. “Nearly 20% of high school students report serious thoughts of suicide and 9% have made an attempt to take their lives.” In honor of this week, take the time to check on your peers.
