DANCE NIGHT: The best night of Inlet Grove’s juniors and seniors lives occurred April 9, 2016; prom night! Hairs were on point, dresses were dazzled, suits were dashing, shoes were ready, accessories were popping and makeup was undeniably fierce. Although some students had to take ACT the very day, everyone came to show off, show out and boogie down in the Evening on the Nile themed prom.
The best night of Inlet Grove’s juniors and seniors lives occurred April 9, 2016; prom night! Hairs were on point, dresses were dazzled, suits were dashing, shoes were ready, accessories were popping and makeup was undeniably fierce. Although some students had to take their ACT on the very same day, everyone came to show off, show out and boogie down in the Evening on the Nile themed prom.
The Palm Beach Gardens Marriott Hotel opened its arms to prom-goers and boy, did it give them a party. The room was abundant in gold sphinx’s and pyramid decor. There were gold and black balloons dancing around the room. Dish-loads of pasta, chicken and other delicious food were served; along with a variety of drinks such as soda, punch and water. The DJ delivered a mix of old-school classics and hot new songs as well. The dance floor was cluttered with prom attendees all wanting to dance and have a good time.
“I had a really good time,” said Bianca Bernard, a senior in the Medical Academy. “I danced with my friends and sat around and talked.”
“I had the time of my life,” said Alex Stephens, a senior in the Pre-Architecture Academy. “Me and my group of friends danced until the prom was over.”
Some point after 10:00 pm Mr. McDermott grabbed the microphone and asked for everyone to clear the dance floor. It was time to announce prom king and queen. He announced prom king first, “Joey Joseph!” Everyone applauded and he was wrapped in his prom king gear. Prom queen was next and to no surprise, Joey’s girlfriend Imani Doss was crowned prom queen. They shared their dance.
“We were so happy that we won,” the couple expressed. The couple was blessed enough to not have a repeat of last year where the prom king and queen split and danced with their own dates instead, creating an awkward environment.
After the couple shared their dance, they shared the dance floor with the rest of the party-goers. Tunes flooded the room and dancing accompanied them. A conga line was also started which mostly everyone attached onto.
Everyone had a good time at prom, socializing with their friends and partaking in a thrill-filled environment. Not a single soul left the event disappointed. The 2k16 prom was definitely a night to remember and is something the ones who attended will always cherish.
