Is it just me

Or did this world just become worse

Have the killings died down

Or have they increased

Do we citizens feel protected

Like the government promised

Or do we feel threatened

Have we aided those in desperate need

Or abandoned them

How long will it take for us

To realize the errors of our ways

Before it’s too late

Before we destroy our society

To the point of no return.
