Canes kick off pre-season
HOME OPENER: When Coach Michael Timpson’s squad lost to Palm Glades High School, Journalism students Jasmin Felix, Hailey Britton and Kennedi English captured and edited some of the scenes.
The Boys Varsity Football team opened up the 2016 pre-season at home against Palm Glades Prep. The Hurricanes came up short taking the loss with a score of 48-6. Shoutout to Christan Knowles for scoring for the Canes six points, with a 20-yard run. The Canes are on the road for their regular schedule at Coral Glades High School, Friday Aug. 26 at 7 pm.

Don’t get discouraged because of this loss. Just try again and work harder to perfect your craft. A lot of you are looking to get scouted and get scholarships to colleg. Come on ‘Canes, you got this!

I am proud of our football players for going out there and doing their best. I heard some negative comments in the stands about them, and I just want to say “Don’t Hate”; instead show them some encouragement. A good deal of our players are new and they are learning how to work as a team. They have heart and courage. Let’s lift them up CANES!
