As the chilly weather settles in, the Senior class has found the perfect way to warm up the mornings—by selling hot cocoa to raise money for upcoming Senior events.
This week, the Class of 2026 kicked off their Hot Cocoa Fundraiser right in front of the teachers’ lounge in Building 2, serving both students and staff a cozy start to their day.
The fundraiser officially began on November 12, when temperatures dipped between 40–50°F, making it the perfect time for a cup of something warm.
Each cup of cocoa costs $3 in cash or $4 when paying by card, with all proceeds going toward Senior class activities and events planned for later in the year.
To ensure everyone could enjoy a cup safely, the hot cocoa is made with hot water instead of milk, helping avoid allergy concerns while still keeping that classic comforting taste.
Seniors plan to continue selling cocoa every morning until 8:00 a.m., giving everyone on campus a sweet reason to stop by before class.
Senior Danielle St. Louis shared her thoughts on the fundraiser, saying, “The hot cocoa is just such a great idea to save up for seniors. I think it’s a reasonable price and since it’s cold outside, it kind of aligns.” She continued saying, “The only thing I could say is I feel like they should’ve used milk instead of water, and it wasn’t really the size I’d want—it was a little bit small for my liking.”
Meanwhile, Sarah Dulix, a 10th grader, had a different take, saying, “I thought it was really yummy—it wasn’t watered down or anything. The hot cocoa had a really good flavor, and since it was cold out, I feel like the taste felt more enhanced. The cocoa was worth the $3 I spent.”
The funds raised will go toward potential senior events such as prom, senior brunch, and graduation-related expenses—special moments that the Class of 2026 is eager to make memorable.
