BOOKS MEET ART: Designs by Commercial Arts instructor Ms. Bakers students were celebrated at the Riviera Beach Library on May 7. Parents and Hurricane staff members were present to support the students, and Chef Newmans Culinary Academy students served refreshments. The Canes artwork will be displayed on the librarys second floor until June 7.

HELLO WORLD: Tears were shed as hugs were being given to the Class of 2019 as they walked the stage May 16, at the South Florida Fair Grounds Expo Center. Before the ceremony English Teachers, Ms. Mathias and Mrs. Cartwright prepped the seniors on how to stand, walk and conduct themselves throughout the event. Senior Class President Zenia Topps looked back on the highlights of her four years with her fellow classmates, keynote speaker and former Inlet Grove teacher Mr. Graham spoke on how to value this moment and Valedictorian Robelle Jean gave an inspirational speech. STANDING OVATION: (From left) Robelle Jean, Principal Mr. Lopez, Alyssa Tenorio and sponsor Mr. Hanif attended the annual Pathfinder Scholarship Awards ceremony at the Kravis Center on May 14 sponsored by The Palm Beach Post. Jean was nominated in the Academic Excellence and Tenorio in Communications category. The awards are presented each year to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in 18 academic, vocational and athletic categories.

AROUND THE WORLD: At the Riviera Beach Library, the Digital Design career teacher Arenthia Baker hosted an event. On the 7th of May, along with the activities, Chef Newman brought different student-made foods classified as the Around the world platters. Between 3 platters, they had corn tortillas Mediterranean style with cucumber and tomato, pastries with fresh fruit, and buffalo chicken corn tortillas.
