My name is Brianna but you can call me Bri or B. I am a Senior in the Journalism Academy. Aside from belching Beyonce songs, I like to help people, take pictures and travel. I am currently writing a book on a child's perspective of life and hope in the future to edit and publish it. Give respect and get respect is my motto. I hope one day to travel the world and see different cultures. I am a Leader not a follower and I pave a way for others to grow. I love my life and hope to live it to the fullest.

MODERN WORLD: The Hurricanes returned to the Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) District 7 workshop, this year at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on Nov.16. During the annual trip organized by Mr. Hanif and with Ms. Baker helping as a chaperone, students went to different sessions about Journalism and met professional and award-winning journalists.

BANANA DRAMA: After fruity art duct taped to a wall sold for $120,000 recently at Art Basel Miami, Georgia artist David Datuna peeled it from the wall and ate it. It wasnt vandalism, he said, it was art performance from me and absolutely I am not sorry, according to CNN. com. Hurricanes Marine Science teacher Ms. Martinich re-enacted the performance in Mr. Hanifs fourth period Journalism class with the $120,000 artwork prize left from the Final Exam Team Competition.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The Canes learned how to be more effective journalists during the annual Palm Beach Post High School Newspaper Workshop on Nov. 5 at the Airport Hilton. The sessions included producing a newspaper front page and writing lunch desert reviews that were critiqued by Food Editor Liz Balmaseda, a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner.

REGISTER TODAY: In response to National Voter Registration Day on Sept. 24, the League of Women Voters organization had tables set up at lunch on Sept. 25 in front of the cafeteria. Voter Services Committees representative on Voter Rights Restoration Coalition, Robin Sambur is directing Hannah Snow, Senior in the Journalism academy to the table where she will fill out the registration form. Only students 16 and older are able to register.

HOMECOMING: Derico Jones an Inlet Grove graduate who currently holds a Lead Server (bash programming) position at GoDaddy.com gave a talk to Mr. Martinezs Foundations of Web class this morning about his career in real world experiences. One of his current assignments includes creating a remote satellite office here in Florida for the company. Its great to see how all of us as teachers can make a difference in a students life. Very proud of him, Mr. Martinez said.

HELLO WORLD: Tears were shed as hugs were being given to the Class of 2019 as they walked the stage May 16, at the South Florida Fair Grounds Expo Center. Before the ceremony English Teachers, Ms. Mathias and Mrs. Cartwright prepped the seniors on how to stand, walk and conduct themselves throughout the event. Senior Class President Zenia Topps looked back on the highlights of her four years with her fellow classmates, keynote speaker and former Inlet Grove teacher Mr. Graham spoke on how to value this moment and Valedictorian Robelle Jean gave an inspirational speech. TIS THE SEASON: Culinary students including Chef Newman from left to right: Britney Campbell, Ruth Ann Kalchik, Tia Daniel, Dakota Sands, and Jahnel Jones not pictured, volunteered on Dec. 7 to serve hot chocolate and an array of cookies to choose from to the community of Riviera Beach.
