The Goldstein Express

Mrs. Goldstein is an AP English teacher, who has taught for more than 15 years. She’s encountered many hardships as well as good times throughout her career. Mrs. Goldstien said, ”I like working with students and being part of their growth while experiencing new things at school”,  about her inspiration to teach.

One of the biggest challenges she’s ever faced throughout her career was, ”Having to teach during COVID… I hated it.” It was a period where most of everyone’s work had to be done remotely.

Her motivation throughout her profession is, ”Getting to know my students”, said Mrs. Goldstein. She said that she encourages students in her class by, ”encouraging them by making big deals out of small growth.” One of the hardships that she happens to face daily is with,” students who aren’t motivated to do their work” said Mrs. Goldstein.

Some of her effective strategies used throughout her teaching career include, ”Drafting, providing feedback, and having students rewrite when necessary and looking at samples and good authors” said Mrs. Goldstein.

When it comes to discussions regarding controversial and sensitive topics. She makes sure that she can create a safe space where students can express themselves, but don’t necessarily have to agree.

Her best experiences as a teacher, Mrs. Goldstein said, take place,” Every year at graduation getting to see the kids struggle throughout the years and them fulfilling their accomplishments throughout the years”

Mrs. Goldstein said, “I’ve seen the future because they’ve been in our classroom, and I can tell that we’re going to be in good hands”
